Nick Aime
Nick Aime is a Politics and International Affairs junior. He is currently working on a research project examining the environmental injustices taking place in Winston-Salem, NC and the Piedmont Triad area, under the guidance of Dr. Betina Wilkinson. Funding for Nick’s work is provided by the WFU Politics department.
Tahjanee Givens
Tahjanee Givens is a senior double majoring in Psychology and Politics & International Affairs. She is currently working under Dr. Lisa Kiang on projects about the development of bicultural identity in Latine families and the effects of race, culture, and racism on Black, Latine, and Asian-American families.
Geraldine Guzman
Geraldine Guzman is a Politics and International Affairs senior. She is currently working with Dr. Betina Wilkinson on a research project examining professional athletes’ activism on social media and another on Latinxs’ experiences with the criminal justice system. Funding for Geraldine’s work is provided by the Wake Forest University’s Dean’s Office.
Kyla King
Kyla King is a junior double majoring in Politics and International Affairs and Spanish. She is currently working with Dr. Wise on a research project examining the attitude of Americans on Critical Race Theory and how it affects education policy.
Catarina Laufer Salazar
Catarina is a junior with a double major in Economics and Politics. She will be working with Betina Wilkinson during 2024 to study the effects of colonialism and racism on South Americans’ racial identity and racial attitudes.
Chloe Menzies
Chloe Menzies is senior majoring in Political Science and International Affairs and double minoring in Sociology and American Ethnic Studies. She has previously worked with Dr. Sherri Lawson Clark, completing two research projects on Environmental Justice in both Nevada and Spain. Currently, she is working with Professor Julia Jordan-Zachary, researching Reproductive Justice within the U.S. Prison Systems.
Armon White
Armon White is a junior at Wake Forest University, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Sociology. He is currently working on Dr. Hana Brown’s research project on immigrant rights movements.
Joshua Yama
Joshua Yama is a junior at Wake Forest University, majoring in Philosophy with double minors in Politics & International Affairs and English. He is currently working on Dr. Sara Dahill-Brown’s research project on teachers unions during COVID-19.
Jiale Zhu
Jiale Zhu is a junior at Wake Forest University, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is currently working on Dr. Hana Brown’s research project on immigrant rights movements.
The land on which Wake Forest University now resides and the land on which the original campus resided served for centuries as a place for exchange and interaction for Indigenous peoples, specifically Saura, Catawba, Cherokee, and Lumbee in the current location and Shakori, Eno, Sissipahaw, and Occaneechi in the original campus location.
